We began with the invitations. The beautiful and talented Jessica over at Pen and Paperflower created these beautiful invitations incorporating the color scheme I'd chosen and the Garden Party Ice Cream theme!
Didn't she do an amazing job? I even took a few of my decor ques from the invite! But more on that later.
I had already picked out these BEAUTIFUL printables from Kim at the TomKat Studios. The colors were perfect, and they are SUCH a great way to accent all the little pieces of the party! I found great plastic bowls at the Dollar Tree in coordinating colors (jackpot!) and they were 4/$1! (DOUBLE jackpot!) Add some coordinating ribbons and there ya have it! I also added the circles to the tops of the spoons for a little extra something.
Next was toppings. There are a lot of ideas out there for serving toppings. But to keep up with the garden theme, I decided upon clay flower pots! They were so cute, super simple and inexpensive! Add a little ribbon and a fancy label--TA DA!!
The kids all had a blast adding toppings to their ice cream cones...and their lemonade! (kids...) Even Grandma got in on the fun!

I have to admit, my favorite touch...
I wanted to recreate the image Jessica created on the invitation. I LOVED the idea of the tree and the ice cream cones! So I made small tissue paper pom poms (in coordinating colors, of course!) and tied them to waffle cones! I strung them up in the tree and I have to say, they looked amazing!! And the kids were fascinated with them!
The party was a huge success! The proof? "Mom, I loved my ice cream party. It was awesome! Can we have another one? Next year? Please??"
